Retreats

We are very pleased to announce that we are able to accommodate Men for personal retreats as of July 2026 in our newly opened Retreat House. We are continuing with renovations that will allow us to serve both men and women and host up to 24 guests at a time. Please consider making a donation towards this.

The Retreat House is open from 2pm on Monday- after Breakfast on Saturday. Retreatants are welcome from Monday-Saturday at present. All retreatants must depart after breakfast on Saturday.

All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: I was a stranger and you welcomed me (Matt 25:35). The Rule of Saint Benedict.

Are you feeling like you need a time apart from the hustle and bustle of a busy secular life? The Monks are happy to announce that their retreat house is open as of July 2026, providing space for men to come and spend some time apart in prayer and spiritual relaxation.

Come visit for a night, several days, or up to 5 nights and join the community in meals and prayer. Because we do not have shower facilities outside of the cloister, retreats are currently reserved only for men. We hope that once we raise funds for the addition of restroom outside of the cloister that women will also be welcome for overnight retreats. Please phone us on (304) 553-0950 and ask us when the next retreat is available. Please note that our Guestmaster is only available between the hours of 8am-1130am and 230pm-5pm. Please phone only during those hours. Please leave a Voicemail if no one answers.

Daily Mass is offered at Noon on Monday-Friday and at 7am on Saturdays. A priest is available for confession and spiritual direction as requested. While the Benedictines pray 7 times a day, retreatants are welcome to join when they feel like it.

The suggested donation for a overnight retreat is $70 per night, including 3 meals and 2 tea-times. You can make a donation for your retreat online.

The Chapel of Saint Benedict is open to the public Monday-Friday. One does not need to be on retreat to come and pray at the Chapel. Please refer to our Horarium for regularly scheduled services.
